I prefer to buy magnesium sulphate rather than the popular Epsom salts for this recipe. I once read that Epsom salts have heavy metals in them and they can be absorbed into your skin. So, when you spend as much time as I do laying in a bath, you want to make sure it’s not doing you more harm than good.

Candy Cane Bath Salts Recipe
These candy cane bath salts are super easy to make. My girls have made them numerous times over the years to give to their teachers as Christmas presents.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salts)
- 1⁄2 cup Sea Salt
- 15 drops Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil
- Red food colouring
- Zip lock sandwich bags or a metal bowl
- Recycled Glass Jars
Method
- In a sandwich-size zip lock bag or a metal bowl combine one cup Epsom salts with 1⁄4 cup sea salt.
- Add the peppermint essential oil to this and set aside.
- In another sandwich size zip lock bag mix 1 cup Epsom salts with 1⁄4 cup sea salt.
- Add a few drops of red colouring at a time to the second zip lock bag of Epsom salts.
- Shaking as you go till the mix is the desired red colour of candy canes.
- In a clear jar, layer the white and red mixtures until the jar is full.
