Looking for the perfect gift for Dad this Fathers Day that doesn’t cost the earth? Then you are going to love this Budget Beard Oil.
Men use beard oils to soften their beard making his facial hair way healthier. It’s also effective for moisturising the skin beneath the beard. People use beard oil to keep their beards looking fuller, softer, and tamer. Beard oil can help prevent dead ends, split ends, beard dandruff, and other common problems.
They don’t have to use a beard oil every day so make sure to make up a label that lets them know how to use it. I include the following on mine.
Budget Beard Oil Use
Use every second day for a softer more tame beard.
Best applied after a shower when your beard you have just dried your beard and it is still slightly damp.
If you live in a particularly dry climate or have a longer beard, you may need to apply more often.
If you notice your beard feels greasy, you can cut back how often you apply oil.
What ingredients have I used in my Budget Beard Oil?
I wanted to include some of the Young Living Wellness Essential Oils so that I am also giving Dad the gift of health this Father’s Day.
Grapeseed oil
I have chosen grapeseed oil as the carrier oil in this Budget Beard Oil recipe as it is cheap. You could use Jojoba or Organ oil but these will make it more expensive.
Grapeseeds are the waste product from the production of producing wine so it is fairly inexpensive to product grapeseed oil.
When it comes to hair health, some claim that grapeseed oil can help restore your hair’s natural shine and vibrancy. Your scalp naturally produces sebum, an oily substance, which keeps your hair shiny and healthy. As you age, your scalp’s sebum production slows down, leading to dry scalp and dry, brittle hair (1).
Studies (2) show that plant oils like palm oil, Moroccan argan oil, nut oils, and grapeseed oil all contain natural conditioning agents. Some people use them to help fight frizz and restore moisture to the scalp. Grapeseed oil has the added benefit of being one of the most lightweight oils, so it moisturises and conditions without weighing hair down and making it oily. This makes it an ideal carrier oil for my budget beard oil recipe.
