Essential oils – finally I can tell you ALL about their therapeutic properties!

essential oils therapeutic properties

It’s been SO frustrating for SO long! After all, as a qualified Clinical Aromatherapist and a long-time essential oil lover I KNOW just how amazing, practical and useful essential oils are. So, I’ve longed to be able to shout all their therapeutic, health-giving properties from the rooftops.

But due to TGA regulations – Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration – I haven’t been able to share any therapeutic claims about the benefits of so many Young Living essential oils. Until now!

Exciting News

Young Living has just released their first batch of Wellness essential oils. This range of essential oils has some amazing claims listed with the TGA! Now, don’t misunderstand me – although they come with a white label, the oils inside the bottles are the very same pure, powerful ones that Young Living have been selling all along. But with the release of Young Living’s Wellness oils range we can now talk freely about the incredible therapeutic properties of these powerful essential oils.

So, without further ado, let me introduce you to six of Young Living’s new Wellness essential oils and EXACTLY what they can do for you!

Note – legally I have to include the dosage form and the active ingredients for each one, in case you’re wondering. Of course, in the case of Young Living’s single oils – the only active ingredient they have is 100% PURE essential oil – ethically and sustainably sourced with love, devotion and commitment!

Clary Sage Wellness Essential Oil

(5ml/15ml liquid; active ingredients – Clary Sage oil; used topically, inhalation or aromatically)*

Firstly, I’ll start with my personal favourite! If you’ve read any of my articles before on ‘happy women’ you’ll know that when it comes to single essential oils I endorse Clary Sage as a woman’s ‘best friend’. Until now, I haven’t been able to ‘clary-fy’ the therapeutic benefits of this beautiful oil. So, here they are!

Clary Sage is traditionally used in Aromatherapy to:

Lavender Wellness Essential Oil

(5ml/15ml liquid; active ingredients – Lavender oil; used topically, inhalation or aromatically)*

  • an antiseptic for minor cuts and abrasions

Tea Tree Wellness Essential Oil

(5ml/15ml liquid; active ingredients – Tea Tree leaf oil; used topically, inhalation or aromatically)**

Tea Tree (melaleuca alternifolia) has been used for its health benefits by traditional as well as modern cultures for centuries. Consequently, like Lavender, it’s a VERY handy essential oil to have in your ‘tool kit’. Why?
Because it’s traditionally used in Aromatherapy to:

Lemon Wellness Essential Oil

(5ml/15ml liquid; active ingredients – Lemon oil; used topically, inhalation or aromatically)*

Who doesn’t love Lemon? Here are eight great reasons to love it even more!
It’s traditionally used in Aromatherapy to:

  • stimulate blood flow to skin

Sacred Sandalwood Wellness Essential Oil

(5ml liquid; active ingredients – Sandalwood oil East Indian; used topically, inhalation or aromatically)*

In the past, when you’ve thought of Sandalwood you’ve probably thought ‘skin’. But as you’ll discover, this fragrant essential oil has therapeutic properties to keep you healthier inside AND out!
That is why I’m delighted to be able to say that Sandalwood is traditionally used in Aromatherapy to:

  • reduce body temperature
  • reduce symptoms and duration of common colds
  • help promote healthy digestive system function
  • relieve digestive discomfort
  • help promote healthy gallbladder function
  • help enhance healthy liver function
  • support muscle relaxation
  • help decrease mild muscle spasms
  • reduce symptoms and appearance of mild varicose veins
  • reduce skin dryness
  • and as an astringent to tighten skin

Frankincense Wellness Essential Oil

(5ml/15ml liquid; active ingredients – Frankincense oil; used topically, inhalation or aromatically)*

Of course, we all know Frankincense is amazing for skin and fantastic to use as a spiritual oil to deepen your experience of meditation, prayer or yoga.
But we can now say Frankincense is traditionally used in Aromatherapy to:

  • enhance nerve function
  • relieve bronchial mucous congestion
  • decrease mild upper respiratory tract congestion
