Why do I love the Satin Mint Scrub from Young Living?
Reason #1
Because I don’t want my skin to look dead. Your face is like an artists canvas and for your makeup to look good it must start off clean and smooth. If you don’t remove the dead skin cells from your face then your skin will look tired, aged and your makeup will not sit nicely on the skin.
Growing up I used an exfoliant that was pretty gritty and I thought that is what my skin needed in order to get rid of all the dead skin cells and blackheads. But then a friend of mine who is a beautician explained to me that the more gritty the exfoliant I used the more it scratched my skin. The more scratches the more lines and wrinkles later on. And no one wants that.
You are better with a less gritty exfoliant for your face that you use a few times a week in little circles than one which is permanently scratching your skin. Save the gritty ones for your knees and elbows.
Reason #2
The skin is our body’s largest organ, it’s our personal connection with the world and with other people, it’s our protector, it holds us together and keeps us safe, it’s tough but it’s also porous. It can protect us from harm in so many ways… but we need to look after it too. Unfortunately it can’t do it’s job of protection when we cover it with toxic chemicals. So many of them are absorbed straight into our bodies… which is another reason I love the Satin Mint Scrub – no nasty chemicals. Just plant based ingredients.
Learn more about the chemicals in skincare products in my blog post – Spring Clean Your Beauty Bag.
Reason #3
A lot of exfoliants on the market today contain microbeads which are made of plastic and are not biodegradable, causing ocean pollution and sewer problems. Fish would see them in the ocean and think they were food so they would swallow them. We would eat the fish and literally be eating the plastic beads.
The Satin Mint Scrub is made with apricot seed powder not microbeads. The apricot seed powder gently lifts and removes dry, dead skin cells to reveal bright and even-looking skin.
Reason #4
Another pet hate of mine is the word Fragrance which is listed as an ingredient on nearly ever skincare product. This one ingredient hides up to 1000 other ingredients which are potentially toxic and mess with your hormones. Manufactures don’t have to disclose the individual ingredients that go into making their so called “signature fragrance” and they use this to hide other ingredients they don’t want you to know about.
The Satin Mint Scrub has pure Peppermint essential oil which gives it a minty scent and tingly fresh feel.
